wip of the downpipe, easy as it looks should be ok as yours has not been on for long, if they are seized its a pain in the ars job.

when refitting you may want to get some copper slip to stop them seizing

then manifold, you might have to undo an engine mount and jack the engine up a bit to get it out, i can't remember if yours is a after market or standard

then turbo

keep a pair of pliers etc handy so you can block the water pipe, this way you won't need to do a coolant change, i found long nose pliers perfect for this

there will be little oil in the oil feed pipe

which turbo are you fitting, have you got a larger inlet, otherwise leave inlet manifold alone

just make sure everytime you expose a way into the engine etc you block it off with something to stop crap getting in

if i can do this anyone can,

and don't be shocked if you have to attack the bell housing with a grinder if you are keeping the 5 speed

thanks rich, id be surprised if i have to grind anything from the box, the turbo housing is "that" much bigger to my knowledge.

My downpipe comes apart in 2 bits so that shoul dbe nice and easy as i can leave the rest as is....

I hear what your saying above preventing crap getting in anywhere..

If i can remove the headers fromt he up pipe....i shoudl be able to lift the turbo out from the top shouldnt i?

Neilo,

Out of interest, what turbo are you using at the moment and what are you going to be using?

I believe you're running ~370 bhp on a 2.5. Is this to up the power even further?

Hi andy, the power that im currently running is nearer to 350 or just below (recorded 338 on DD rollers in the wrong gear hence not reaching its boost target)

I am replacing it for a larger GT30 hybrid turbo which will hopefully see me just over 400/400

turbo will come out of the top easy

when you say a gt30 hybrid, do you mean a md321* or the RCM version, as thats what i have, needed to replace the turbo inlet pipe dues to it having a larger diameter

the second time i fit the turbo took about 3 \ 4 hours ... the first time took about 5 days

yeah ive managed to move 1 bolt tonight, whoopee!

i have managed to remove the headers though so its not a total loss!

Rich, no its neither of those, the inlet should be a standard size....albeit with a touch of stretching apparently. 2.4"
