300+ bhp ?
Hi all
I've got a 95 uk with induction kit, full decat fitted and a FMIC and knocklink ready to bolt on.
What would guys suggest to get me up to 300+ mark, I know I need bigger injectors, fuel pump, regulator and bigger turbo but what do you think on the ecu side of things ?
I know Apexi is on the tip of your tongues but would a scoobychips ecu map be able to statisfy my power needs !!!
Cheers in advance
Dave

I would say be a bit more specific on the actual figure you want to reach then talk to a mapper.
If you've got a tight budget then maybe a esl scoobychip will do. I believe Andy at ESL can give you a map to suit the mods on your car.
If you've got a TD05 then 1.5bar is the max i'll think you'll get out of it but for this you'll need bigger injectors and pump.
But like i said speak to a mapper as they'll know more then i will ever know.

From: The yorkshire dales - best roads in the UK
New blitz sus air filter £170
4 new coil packs - Old ones can break down at high boost/heat levels £200
API lightened F wheel £850 fitted including uprated clutch
FMIC £300
255 pump £70
550 Denso injectors £250 with fitting kit
Ported and wrapped headers £80 for wrap/paint etc, self ported
Harvey smith up-pipe £140
New AVC-R boost controller £300
Apexi ecu £850 mapped
Induction power pipe £80
Full 3" decat from turbo with bend removed from back box £250
other bits like hose/clamps/cover for turbo etc £200
That little lot makes around 320 brake on my 93 type RA running at 1.4 bar so its not cheap and took a while to get everything working together(dump valve was main issue)
You need to think about brakes, shocks, roll bars etc. You can't just up the power on its own. Subaru brakes are bad before you start tuning so there is more cost.
It's not cheap if you are going to do it right.

Wouldn't the answer depend on what mods you have?

I've seen everything from 260-309bhp on standard cars with the same ESL postal map, IK and decat, really depends which RR you use and how well the car breathes.
Your turbo is fine, you only need 440s (secondhand £100) and a walboro pump (£80) if you want to run over 300. I can rescale the fuel to run the injectors but if you want to run 1.1bar+ the cheapest method is an mbc (and I remove the boost cut entirely) or a different MAP sensor and boost target rescale (more expensive, rescale factor depends on which sensor used).
As mentioned above, the brakes will require uprating if you havent already done so.

Hi andy
If I were to get 440's and a pump, I could get a dawes to control the boost.
Can you map a chip for all these mods? PM me with more details and price and we'll go from there.
Thanks Dave
