Default nitrous oxide?

Does anyone have any opinions on the risk/rewards of fitting nitrous oxide?
i know is can be used as a"cooler" or in the usual way (extra air/fuel= bigger bang), any info welcome.

I had Nitrous in my peugeot 106 rallye, used 50BHP jets taking power up from 110BHP to around 160BHP in a car weighing around 800Kg's. It flew, i wouldnt risk it in an impreza though, its hard enough to stop the engine breaking anyway so NOS is going to play havoc

I have pushed over a 100lbs of nitrous through my engine to date with no problems .
I think you need to take the time to do a proper setup to eliminate some of the risks.
My engine runs with a rpm window switch, wot switch, progressive controller and delay relay for the nitrous, fuel solenoid offset to prevent a momentary lean situation.
It is also a direct port setup this gives much more flexability in tuning the nitrous.
The engine is built with forged pistons, paulter rods ext ext

In the high 10's with nitrous I just havent gotten everything out of the car yet I'm breaking shafts left and right, 6 so far.
The car is running a 75 shot and is a daily driver and the only disadvantage is the cost
