HELP high rpm and losing power
I have a '05 WRX with 38k. Having issues with the RPMs in 3rd & 4th. If you are at 2.5rpm and accelerate hard, the rpm rev really high but the car does not go. It feels like you lose power (but nothing happens) then the car kicks in hard.
I have reset the battery and added high octane booster.
Any thoughts!!

Thanks,

Just took it out on lunch let it warm up then drove normally for awhile then booted it and the problem has disapeared? went through all gears fine? Dont want to ignore it though might come back?

Your turbo should spool up at 3500 rpms, sounds like its being restricted by the ecu, do a diagnostics on the ecu and see if anything shows up, faulty sensor somewhere
also if the car is standard and a 2000 classic, get the maf sensor checked and perhaps check and clean the boost solonoid, could be clogged up
sorry for hijacking the thread like this
and i do agree with the above, sounds like clutch slipping, get it checked where you bought it, there must be some warranty left on a 05 car
