Default Heath Robinson cold air box

I've just Knocked up a cold air box with piped air feed from the front grill and left a hole in the top for air to enter via a mini bonnet scoop,I know it looks a bit rough and ready but having driven 80 miles after fitting it has definitely cooled the air around the air filter it was only warm instead of the usual burnt fingers

I'm wondering what I could use as a moisture barrier to stop the K&N and MAF getting damp.
cheers

Looks ok to me matey.

What induction kit is that? I know it's a K and N but haven't seen one like that for a classic. What else have you had done?

It's a K&N 57i induction kit for the P1,which had the biggest filter I could wedge into the space I had,I've done this because I'm changing my Autronic ECU to an Apexi power fc which is being fitted and mapped by Andy Forrest on Tuesday and I have to go back to a MAF based system for the time being because Andy said the maf bypass kits for the Apexi have been causing problems.

TBH I would block off the scoop vent, then let the cold air feed in below the filter and fire up at it (can't see from the pics if you have done this or not).

I think I may put a removable trap door on the top so that I can cover it up in bad weather and take it off in good?I'll ask andy F about this tomorrow because I have already got the piped air feed from the orange wedge opening so that may supply enough fresh air.
