Default CEL Light Issue

I have got 2002 WRX with some mods, but over the last few weeks I’ve been getting the check engine light coming on periodically, the first 2 times it flickered then went off, switch off then on the cel light was gone.

The last time it did it, it stayed on. Got the codes read, and it’s a misfire on cylinder 3.

The car is away to get its 50K service, and some new plugs.

Just wondering if this is anything to worry about, or should the service & plugs take care of it.

Also, was wondering what plugs to go for, Have been recommended to use platinum ones.

Woody.

Woody,

If you do a search on 'Neutral Position Switch' you will come up with several threads detailing the same problems.

It was/is a problem with the newage cars especially MY01/02

Cheers
