Default brakes problem

Hi I have been braking recent ly and been hearing a clicking nosie coming from the passenger rear, so I I thought I would investigate. I took the front of the calliper of by undoing the screws on using a 14mm wrench and taking out the 2 pins going through the pads to have a look. The pads are ok apart from the cracks on the pad which are normal. SO I cleaned everything and put it back together. Since then when I brake the pedal goes to the floor and is not as responsive as it used to be. Why would that be

sounds very much like the brakes need to be bled. Did you unscrew the valve on the top of the caliper when cleaning them?

sounds like you split the caliper body instead of just removing the pads!!

what age/model car and style of caliper??

would suggest you bleed all the calipers to sort

I'm sorry about this BUT, WHY do people play with brakes when they have no idea about what they're doing FFS..?

if you had simply removed the pins across the top of the caliper, the job would have been sorted

Maybe you should have asked someone before starting. If you have split the body, (which you probally have) the system will need to be bled at the very least. Possibly by splitting the caliper, you may have also damaged the "o" rings in the split.
Get someone who knows what they are doing to help bleed the brakes, but they should be checked out by a pro. The bolts that hold the caliper together should also be threadlocked if I remember rightly.

DON'T FIDDLE!!!
