Have just imported a Impreza Wrx RA -96 from uk.
It has:
fulldecat 3"
K&N induction kit
Forge Bov

There is something strange with the performance. I noticed it last week (only droved it about 6 times after import becouse Im going to put it in the garage until spring. When you make a full acceleration (After 15-20 minutes, when the engine is hot) there is no punch in your back. The boostgauge says 0.9 bar, and the engine revs up without any problems. But it doesnt seem to be any turbokick. After 15 more minutes, the car goes better and better. And you can feel the turbokick more and more. After about 30-40 minutes, the car seems to have ok acceleration, think it should be better then it is, it has a good punch in the back, but it isnt scary like I wanted =)

its a bit strange but it could be as simple as it needs to be set up correctly a re map , maybe that was never done when the mods were fitted . i have the same car and dont have that prob .

 

Yeah, maybe. The strange thing is that I have noticed this more and more after a while now, not when I bought it.

I have a custom mapped scoobyecu that I shall fit before spring. So maybe that will sort the strange problem

Cant wait to the spring, having these problems in my mind all the time. Someone must have some idea.

That I heard, the Wrx RA -96 should be very quick if it going like it should. Mine feels like it has about max 240hp or something, and less then 180 the first 30 minutes. It revs up fine, no misfires, or turbodrop. Just aint punching your back in any revs. As I said, im going to try a custom mapped Scoobyecu, mapped for same mods that I have and setting the boost to 16,5 psi. In the spring, I can also put it on a running road test, and see what power it really has. But its so long and I cant just sit and wait without knowing what I shall do with the car, if the same problems exist next year

Have a video on it, inside and outside. Maybe someone can tell if it should rev up faster comparing to your wrx/RA, and so on when looking at it
