Default front mount or top mount intercooler?

just wonderin whats the best intercooler for best results?a friend of mine said that front mounts are rubbish because you lose power relating to the long pipes and bends they have.is this true?

Depends on your power target. Up to 350ish a decent top mount will suffice, above this front mount. You will increase lag due to increasing induction length but a good mapper will iron this out. The power hit will be greater on boost and the turbo will hold boost longer too with a front mount.

Agree with Einstein above.
Went from Sti v3 @ 314 bhp(1.3bar) to Sti v8 @ 380 bhp(1.4 bar) to FMIC and @ ? bhp(1.6 bar)!

If you see yourself going for bigger numbers then go straight to FMIC.
