Default oil cooler from ebay

hello,

I have bought this oil cooler from ebay, eBay.co.uk: SUBARU IMPREZA OIL COOLER & OIL FILTER RELOCATION KIT (item 220048652326 end time 20-Nov-06 07:06:32 GMT)

I have an oil leak between the filter plate and the filter, have tried 3 different filters but they all leak... does anyone knows if there are any filters with a larger washer?

thank you for your help.

sorry for the pic you can barely see the oil cooler...

the oil filter is now on the left side of the car ( right side in the picture ). I believe the oilf filter washer isn't large enough... any ideas? is there any filter that can solve this problem?

Ah glad I found this topic...I was looking at buying one of those "fits all jap" kits and wondered about the quality...

Did you get it resolved? I've seen lists on ebay which are just selling the sandwich plate.

hi,

I don't have the car anymore, but the problem was solved, the leak was in one bung ( you can fit temp/pressure sensors in there ), the shop where it was fitted "screwed" the thread of the plate and the oil leaked from there.

I used motul 300v 15w50, in highway or in a normal fast driving, the oil temp kept around 75º Celsius, in traffic didn't go beyond 95º

don't know if it's good or not...

75 sounds really low...I would of expected the 85-90 mark - same, not sure if that's a good thing as might be to low for the oil temp range.
