Question check engine light

Ok has any one else had this!!
Started the car up the other day,the engine light came on briefly,I let her warm up as always.Set off had a bit of a stutter, out for 5 mins then the light came on again!!but went off when I went around a left hand corner wired, it only seemed to come on on a right hand corner. Then this morning, same thing, but the light has stayed on,and my fans are now on when driving!!.So I'm not using the car now.Could it be a sensor problem??.Any Ideas guys and gals?will be getting her in for a plug-in asap, but would it be best to leave her off the road till then. Thanks

John

Has your car been difficult to start? Fans being on could indicate the coolant temp sensor has died (although you may have found that out youself by now?!)
