Is this a DIY job, never done it beofre.

Do you ideally need air ratchets to do it, obviously would need to buy spring compressors but anything else?

Cheers

i changed my complete shocks and springs for sti suspension on my classic a few months back, the fronts were easy, the rears were a bit harder because you have to remove a bit of trim behind the rear seats, once you have got the shocks off you will need some spring compressors,i would of thought you could undo the big nut on the shock without an air gun cause there is usually an allan key hole in the end of the shaft to stop it from turning, pritty easy job really if you dont mind getting your hands dirty, ive got some spring compressors if you wanted to borrow them and are near to the west midds... james

I have replaced road springs on several cars (not scoobs) and no you dont need air ratchets. As long as you have a little bit of patience, the know how and a selection of correct sized spanners/allen keys etc you should be ok. Oh, and dont forget the wheel aignment afterwards.
(ive not got the ***** to do mine though)

I put full Tein suspension on my Sti bugeye. Fronts are easy, rears require the removal of the whole back seat lower part first then back piece to gain access to the top bolts. If possible spray all strut lower bolts with WD40 night before, be VERY careful not to get it on the brakes best to take wheels off. Once all re-fitted and fully bolted a full 4 wheel alignment will need doing as two of the bolts on the front adjust the camber angle. Hope this gives you a idea of what is needed any other questions feel free to ask. Steve PS where abouts are you?
