Default Slipping Starter Motor?

Hi Guys,

Just a quickie...

Went to start my MY05 STi this morning and first go at starting made a sound that sounded like slipping gears (sounded like it was the starter motor slipping) and the engine didnt turn over??

Anyone had this before? Should i get it checked?

Started perfect 2nd try... but just made this sound and didnt do anything first time

Could be a worn starter gear ring, Or the Fly wheel teeth are worn in just a certain positon thats why it worked on the second attempt. Best to remove the starter motor & investigate that first.
