Default Fuel Cut Problem

Does the boost solenoid control the fuel cut? I always assumbed it did. I have bypassed it in order to connect a manual boost controller, its still electrically connected but all pipes (baring the one that goes to the inlet after the MAF - its a 3 port version) are blocked. If I up the boost to over 1bar i still hit what I think is a fuel cut. If thats what is happening, how does the ecu know?

I thought it was the MAP that sensed it and the ecu cut the fuel/injectors?

Yes, map sensor (a small sensor near your solenoid connected by one tube) senses the pressure.

The ECU decides what pressure is the limit and cuts fuel if it goes over that limit.

Hi Roojai,

This is useful as i will be fitting a dawes device soon, is the MAP sensor normally off a t-peice on the outlet from the turbo nipple going to the boost solenoid?

Next question, if you disconnect it i assume the fuelling will be to pot as the ecu wont know what pressure its running, or is it controlled via the closed loop system?
