Default Is this a version 6 sti wagon?

Spotted this and was wondering if its a V6 sti. How would I tell? It was first registered in dec '99 but could have been made before this so its no guarantee of a sti 6.

Looks like a v6 to me, reg dec 99 would be right as these cars are released in september of every year (so an MY00 would be released in sept 99) and it has the 6 spoke alloys, afaik the v5 had 5 spoke.

My car (MY99 WRX Wagon) did indeed had 5 spoke wheels. But wheels are fog lamp covers are no guarantee as modding these cars is very popular in Japan. Model code is what you want.

As far as I'm aware....

GF8F58D = MY99 WRX Wagon (like mine)
GF8F5ED = MY99 Sti V Wagon
GF8G58D = MY00 WRX Wagon
GF8G5ED = MY00 STi VI Wagon

It's difficult to tell a v5 from a v6 as the changes are really costmetic and can be faked if someone wanted to go to the trouble (eg, changing the v5 front lip spolier for a v6).

The best way is to check the VIN - see this page

Which Car is a WRX STi

A V6 wagon would be "GF8G5ED".

Looks like a V6 STi, correct wheels, front lip spoiler, colour coded handles, etc.
