Default give me some options

my engine has thrown a rod so im now in need of some options, i have no idea what is around the rod area so please speak to me like a simpleton

i may as well u[grade what i can of the engine but everyone is on a budget so what is the cheapest upgrade in this situation and where is the smart more money like forged internals

i have heard if my heads are ok they can be used again and i can have a new sti8 crank, bearings and piston rings which all sounds good but my engine had covered 153k miles so would i be advised to get new pistons as well

cheers for all comments

Talk to Subaru dealer.. the exchange on your broken bottom end is usually very good price around £900 iirc..

Agreed.. depends if cost is the issue or not..
