could someone explain the differences between closed and open deck blocks cos i here a lot bout them when talking bout high bhp imprezas but cant for the life of me work out what they are on about!!!!

what makes a closed deck block different?

"Generally speaking if your run over 10lbs of boost you need a closed deck block to be reliable."

 

Am i right in thinking that 10lbs = 10 psi? If so then surely they should come out of the factory with closed decks??

 

Precisely - Perhaps a bit of overkill considering you would be running 13psi odd on a standard TD04

 

Does anybody know if the standard block on a 95 RA is a closed deck block or semi closed deck block? Subar UK reakon a semi? Is this correct?
