Unhappy For All You Clutch People - HELP

Just fited a new clutch but i cant seem to find the biting point !!!

On a clutch where should a biting point be? on the top or the bottom of the the clutch peddle ?

The car vibrates alot when i try to look for the biting point also.. there is some sort of ratterling happerning aswell ! When i put my food down half way the ratterling go's but thats not even meeting the biting point ! The biting point is somewhere 1/3rd of the peddle down somewhere !!

What can this be ? pls help !!

I've just fitted a new clutch.

My old biting point was very high on the pedal, and yes, I had vibration too. The vibration is the flywheel, where there is an uneven surface.

Once the clutch and flywheel were changed everythings been fine. The biting point is just after I lift my foot off the carpet. Nice smooth action too, no vibration etc.

I used API (01926 614522). David will give you good advise.

Hope this helps

Mine seems high compared to other cars i have owned.... and extremely agressive.

Is this normal in a MY05 STi?

My flywheel is fine & has even surface on there

I just needed a clutch change which ive got done only yesterday & after a nice 25miles drive i noticed the ratterling on my classic.

Over all driving goin gears up & down is fine but its the first gear which im having problems with.

Hi, this could be the old problem with classics, they brought out new clutch plates becuase they warp easy and shudder. Does it get less when its warm, sometimes when mine is cold the exhaust batters of the chassis when setting off in first. I've just learned to live with it so far lol. Do you know if it was an aftermarket standard clutch? I've heard that they can experience the same sort of problem on the classics. Take it back to the place you had it fitted.
