JDM STI 03 fault code P0502 'speed sensor circuit A low output
Has anyone had or heard of this fault? Took the car to Subaru dealer today who said it needs a new speed sensor. Are these sensors the same as a UK car, and I'm wandering why it has failed so quickly, the car's only done 12500 miles. I've got a feeling something else has failed, possibly something interfered with in the same area pre the SVA test, something like a speedo converter perhaps, but then the fault code specifically states 'speed sensor circuit A low output'. Any ideas anyone?

Hi mate, i had this fault with my sti, i am a mechanic so put my own computer on, the fault code i dont remember but it was the vss, the car would not rev over 4000 rpm, fitted new sensor on top of the gearbox took about 30 mins and all was well, but by all means check wiring on the plug to the sesor because if like mine an import it has a speed convertor on and the wiring does look a bit shabby so i redid that once fault was fixed too!

Thanks mate, you've just said exactly what Powerstation told me earlier on today, that the fault sounds very likely to be a speed converter, which I believe is added on prior to the SVA test, in other words, it's not a quality genuine Subaru part. They doubted the fault was the speed sensor.

Hi guys, I really need help here. I 'm getting this 'Vehicle Speed Sensor A Circuit Low Input' error on my car and the speedometer isn't working. I pulled my speed sensor out of the gearbox and tried it on another car and it worked just fine. What's wrong with mine? any idea where I should start?
