Would a hole in the induction pipes cause...
I have recently fitted my heatshield back on to the turbo after adjusting the actuator. When I was putting the induction pipes back together I noticed that the pipe from the boost solenoid (the one which connects to the resonator box) had came away rom the resonator box. Upon closer inspection I found that the pipe has snapped and taken out the plastic extrusion that it slips over. So basically I've now got a hole in the resonator box. With the resonator box being after the MAF, extra air is now going in to the engine.
Would this cause hesitation, both on part and full throttle?

Common problem there! The port is the spill from the boost controller. Just blank the hole in the box with a suitable screw, and leave the pipe open. As you say, any air leak at that point isn't good news. The idea is to divert lost pressure into the intake, but it isn't a big deal.

As an aside, the problem is the by-passing of the MAF sensor rather than extra air going into the engine, which would have the effect of an incorrect load signal. The engine sucks what it wants of course. The leak would be more likely to cause a problem at light rather than full loads in percentage terms, but is best avoided!
