Default Defi High Oil Temperature Help!

Running my car around today after it has been sitting around for a while and I suddenly get a beeping from the dash. I am alarmed to notice my oil temperature is apparently 130! It has never gone above 100, even on a hot day and now to jump to that temperature I am worried the car is going to blow up!

I have checked and the oil levels are fine and oil pressure seems fine from my Defi too so is the guage the problem? Any ideas on what to check? Has anyone had this problem?

Please please help.............

what oil is in there iirc if the oil is too thin then it can lead to high temps.Might be worth giving it an oil change if its been sat around for a while

just a thought

Do you know any other users in your area with Defi's?

If so a gauge swap over will confirm if it is the gauge, or the sensor/another problem.

It is Silkolene Oil so good quality stuff. An oil change might be in order though like you say. I will see what happens on the way home.
