Question tyres/wheels/geometry setting

Hi,
I just bought an STI III sports wagon v-limited and it runs 16" 205/50/16, is it worth to fit 215 wide?
Can I fit 17" wheels without any risk, keeping in mind that the car is lowered about 50mm?
Does anyone knows a good geometry set up for fast road use?
thanks

I've got a WRX wagon (v4) on the same 205/50/16s lowered on Eibach springs (so no more than about 20mm I don't reckon). I have a fair bit of Whiteline suspension stuff under there (anti lift kit, alloy droplinks front and rear, adjustable rear anti-roll bar) and the Eibachs over KYB gas dampers. Rides and handles lovely. I use the Whiteline geometry settings or as near as I could get to it - 1 degree negative camber all round, zero toe on the front and 1mm toe out each side on the rear.
