hi, does anyone know if a 1996 type ra v-limited has a 3 or 4 pin ecu?

 

Pretty sure it’s a 3 pin.

 

1996 was the change over year (just to complicate matters)

All imprezas up to Aug 96 have the 4-pin plug; imprezas from Sept 96 thru Aug 98 have the 3-pin plug.

One way of quickly working out which is which, the pre-facelift cars go up to Aug 96, Sept 96 on were facelift cars. Of course it is possible to facelift the older cars so this isn't foolproof...

The model code is probably more reliable, models codes starting GC8C will have the 4 pin plug, model codes GC8D will have the 3 pin plug.
