Yes m8 get it remapped,i was told this as when i booked in for the decat,i booked in for the remap 2 weeks after the decat and took it easy but on one occasion i had to get a nova boy off my @ss and floored it WHAM!! engine light straight on as the maf sensor cant read over the old levels and tbh it ran awful till the remap anyway but after boyo boy what a difference
And i aint on commission m8 lol

Sounds like a cell fix mate that he fitted, not a remap at all, remaps can range from £400 -£800 depending on type and mapper

not too sure, when you deca the up/down pipe you loose a sensor as well, which throws the cell light up. the cell fix tricks the ECU ( I think its only a small resistor), into thinking the sensor is still there and working

yes he did fit something like that it puts the engine light out dont know how big it cost 40 to sluppy and fit so can not be that big do you think the cell fix is not working which is causeing the low turbo pressure because the turbo is only working half after the exhaust was fitted it was so fast know it is so slow

likes been said you have allterd the flow and back pressure of the exhaust by de catting it so now your fueling will be out so now you have to get it remapped so it fuels correctly basicly you have only done half the job (and i wouldnt drive it too hard until you get it done either )

De-catting the STi often leads to boost spikes and the ECU reduces boost / retards ignition to protect the engine = loss of performance. Not really MAF related.

There is a home made fix involving drilling out the restrictor in the boost pipework but not ideal. Best to get it re-mapped, loads of places can sort that out for you...... usually using EcuTeK mapping sortware.

Expect to pay £650 plus VAT for re-map but check out the group buy section as this may work out a bit cheaper

The other thing is that the EcuTeK software "maps out" the de-cat CEL which is P0420 so the Cel fix is not required and best removed.

Check the air filter, I think the Newage Jap imports have a high flow filter to handle the increased air flow

HTH

I also just wondered what fuel you are using as the ECU will be expecting 100RON..... the de-cat might have pushed you into more DET and the ECU is cutting boost, retarding ignition and adding more fuel
