Default Doing It A Bit At A Time

I am doing the tuning thing a bit at a time as, I can afford it and ( Wifelet doesn't notice the odd bit spent here & there).

So far have added ,a Garret series 28 Blower, Sports Panel Filter, Remap, 3 Port Boost Selonoid, Sports Rear Box and the next thing is the exhaust system.

Been quoted over a grand to have the Full Monty, headers etc and can't afford that.

I've noticed lots of posts about the downpipe as, being a good place to start.

I also see stuff about about emmissions and failing the MOT.

Basically, if I start with the down pipe, is it a good place to start? Will I get extra wooomf and, how much in your estimation? and, will it pass the MOT?

And what sort of money do you thinkk for supply and fit??
Thanks all.

don't buy cheap ebay style headers they split

do you mean full exhaust, what sort of power are you wanting to run ... im not sure what size a garret 28 turbo is and never heard of it to be honest

WRX Rich,

I only have a sport back box, nothing else on the exhaust as yet.

Was thinking of the downpipe as the next bit on the exhaust and, was looking for some pointers, extra pull, how much cost etc?

Hope that makes sense.

If you want to pass the MOT then you will need a sports cat Dpipe, like the scoobyworld Ninja one, £299. Yes performance is increased as well driveability. You should get a decat centre pipe at the sametime to make the best of it plus another remap.

Hi

I am in the process of doing exactly the same thing, over the past 2yrs I have sank well over 10/12k into my 1993 RA & still the build continues.

Some people think I'm nut's investing that type of money into an old Jap motor, I'm in it for the long haul where I believe 'in the future' value will return to these old classic's.

What's next in mod's who knows, What I do know is it wont be silly blingy things.

I put all of my trust in an experienced Subaru specialist, they guide me down the right path, as some forum's & the information within these can 'at times' be quite mis-leading.
