Default Which Bush?

When I bring the car to a stand-still I apply the handbrake with the foot brake applied at the same time. When I release the foot brake the car seems to roll forward about 1/2 inch. Similary when I accelerate there is a knock.

1993 WRX if that make a difference.

Any clues please guys?

Dan.

Just a bit of play between the handbrake shoes and the hub(s)

My 911 does it!

No need to worry, but if you are bothered by it, then it is an hour to get the brakes down to the handbrake shoes to check everything out at least.
Any decent garage can do this job.

Does anyone have any idea what the knock coud be? Tis not a loud knock, sounds like it could be from front drivers side somewhere, where are the engine mounts?

Drive shafts clunking to a stop. All to do with the rear drummed handbrake shoes as explained by Graham .
