Anything specific that i should use for best results? jigsaw? circular saw? i need to shorten my FMIC pipes by a couple of inches each side in order to complete the raising of my intercooler to a better place.
Any info appreicated.

Theres a purpose made tube cutter you can use, garages use them 4 cutting exhaust pipes so should slice through ally tube easy. Other than that a bench chop saw but ally will probly clog the blade up quite easy.

Neil,
Hack saw, and some wet & dry to de-burr the edges. I wouldn't worry if they aren't 100%, because they'll be covered by the silicon.
The main issue will be not having a barb for the silicon pipe to grip onto, so make sure you have good clips.
And make sure you thoroughly flush out the pipes to get rid of any filings. The inside of the pipes tends to get a little sticky, so hot soapy water shaken, works well.
Mark.

Thanks Mark, will do. I am also a little concerned about the grip of the clips on an un barb'ed pipe....i presume that a welded solution would be preferable to say....a few blobs of solder on each pipe? (guessing they may come up and have a journey through the engine if they came off though!)

Put the hacksaw blade in back to front to cut aluminium.
Put a little talcom powder on each aluminium pipe or right round the inside of each end of the silicon joiner and it will grip properly.
Use pipe clamps not jubilee type clips and keep the joiner on the long side so there is plenty material to compress with the broader pipe clamp(s).
