Engine management light
My engine management light is always on static. My engine is highly modified and its something to do with disconnected tumble vales or something .
Anyway, from time to time the light goes from static to flashing. Sometimes it'll flash just for a second or two, other times it'll flash for 5+ seconds. Then it goes back to static.
Any ideas?

if it is to do with disconnected tumble valves, do you still have them in place? if they have been removed then that could be your issue. Or simply they may have a fault if they are still there.

Just checking out other threads mine seems very simular to a post back in november ..
The guy was saying that his light came on when he hit 90mph - this is what happened to me,
He said it can be one of three things
1. EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature)
2. Misfire on Cylinder 3
3. Camshaft sensor
Anyone know when the camshaft sensor is located?

the EGT one is a simple fix (assuming its failed) which is a 7p resistor from maplins inserted in the plug that the sensor connects to.
Misfire in 3.....no idea.
3. cam sensor i think it is on the right hand side of the bay are you look in to it from the front down near the injectors

I appreciate there could be many reasons for the light flashing but is there a simple rule of thumb? ie Static means one thing, flashing another. Or is it something like static means there's an issue, then it flashes to show there is another issue.
David(API)?? Any ideas??

do a search for " ecu fault codes" and you will find a link to a site where you can print off the sheet that shows you how to do a ecu reset and also how to check the codes yourself.
i just done this myself to find i have a speed sensor fault.
