Default downpipe

does anyone know if classic and newage downpipes are interchangeable?

No.
I have seen some aftermarket de-cat d/p's that are for all ages though.

Many people sell parts for specific years, and if they were interchangable then they would not need to do that!

The New Age WRX and STi are different.
Classic aftermarket downpipes are interchangeable WRX to STi and I think that apart from the sensor positions the Classic and New Age STi are interchangeable.

I bought a Megan 3" decat downpipe from the US (good price) it was sold as one to fit the classic but when it arrived the end that fits to the centre pipe was approx 3" longer than the one on the car. Contacted Megan and they told me they only made downpipes for the new age model hence the difference I was seeing. I had my local exhaust expert shorten the downpipe and it fits perfect now

p.s. delivered from US price was £139 and no import duties
