just got my scooby (94 wrx) and noticed a weird problem. sometimes when i put my foot down, its goes then suddenly complete power loss, only for a second then power comes back, very odd! almost like a missfire but complete power loss. any ideas? cant seem to work out when it happens, does seem very random

Is it as the turbo boosts up, do you have a boost gauge. Sounds like fuel cut from overboosting. What sort of rpm is it at etc.. the more info you can give the more people will try help.

 

standard boost, ill have a play 2moro and see what kinda revs it cuts in at.

 

If its running standard boost then sounds like it could be the boost solenoid, they are common, basically they just need cleaning with WD40, and clean pipes aswell. They get contaminated with oil from the breathers so check they are all cllean and oil level is not above maximum

havent got pics, but as you look into the engine bay, it is the unit behind the airbox, on strut tower, there are like 3 units all linked together with boost pipes,
