A 93 WRX comes with around 208/215 bhp.
The first mod is usually a full 3" exhaust system removing the CAT. Ensure you choose a system with proven performance gains. Next would be ported headers and up-pipe.
To go much further you need to alter the fueling, ignition timing and boost. You could use a chip and there is a wide variety available but some give questionable gains and may even cause damage. Unless the chip can be mapped specifically to your mods, even if it is safe, it cannot give optimal gains.
If you know someone that knows what they are doing and with a wide band lambda, then for cheapness you could consider a GBE valve but this is not an ideal solution and not for the inexperienced as it could easily cost you an engine.
Consider a mappable ECU such as a six row Link or Apexi PFC.
If your car has 380cc injectors, on standard fuel pressure these will be maxed out well before 300bhp.

so changing the 380cc injectors to what is best? how much are they and are they easy to fit? is the 93wrx the same injectors as an 95 wrx

My 95wrx on standard injectors and fuel pressure made 313.3bhp only last month so i have to disagree with your last comment harvey

Running a Z4 on standard boost i think your 280bhp guess is about right maybe a little more

There may well be exceptions to the norm but generally 380cc injectors on standard fuel pressure are maxed out before 300 bhp. If Scoob93 is new to modifying Subarus, he needs to be aware of that. if he is lucky and can get beyond 300 bhp then that is a bonus.

According to the Subaru Impreza Book, the classic WRX has atleast 240 bhp.
Its the UK impreza's that have 208/215bhp?

Its PS and not BHP so the actual figure is a bit lower (think its about 232 or something like that)
