Question Engine Mods

MY02 WRX

I want more power!

I've pieced together a list of bits needed, but I'm sure I've missed a few necessary bits to sustain this power safely.

I'd really appreciate it if ppl could fill in the blanks or even change items in the list: (delete or add)

> TD05 18g
> STi top mount
> STi pinks
> STi cams
> Full de cat with 3" system
> Uprated head bolts
> Uprated oil pump
> Uprated fuel pump
> 3 port boost solenoid
> Re Map

What sort of power could be expected from these mods?

Thanks
Alex

At what point would you need to change to a front mount ?

I've got an MY01 WRX with the following and it made 282/282 on an RR:
  • Full SS decat system (incl. up pipe)
  • HKS Hybrid panel filter
  • Walbro fuel pump
  • ECUTEK remap
I haven't had a 3 port boost solenoid fitted but would recommend you do.

It was suggested to someone recently that they might be better off using a TD04 hybrid turbo, gives quicker spool-up and pulls strong up to near rev limit on a WRX, wont give you more that 320 tho apparently. Depends what sort of drive you are after I suppose.

lots of turbo info

some would say putting a 18g on a wrx is pushing your luck

some would say pushing you luck makes a quicker car

if you were pulling the heads, pistons would be swapped
