Default Motul or silkolene

I know its been done thousands of times before, so I thought I'd do I nice simple poll.

MY99 UK Turbo
Stage one mods
280bhp 270lb/ft torque
56000 miles
No track work
Like to have a play on the road every now and then ( who doesn't )
Most journeys will be 10-15 miles

Which oil is best suited to my car and why?

Silkolene Pro S 10w50 5L £45
Motul 300v 10w40 6L £65

There will be no difference in cold performance between the motul or silkolene as they are both 10w.
The difference will be that the silkolene will provide better protection at higher temps over the motul as the motul is a 40 weight and the silkolene is 50 weight.
I have just opted for the silkolene 10w50 for my 340bhp wrx after speaking to opie oils.
To be honest though, the motul and silkolene are both top quality oils and you wont go wrong using either of them.

Have you thought about a 5W? Do a search for 'motor oil' on www.wikipedia.org then you can make a personal infromed decision....

As long as you don't go too far outside the parameters of the OE oil 'I' don't think you can go far wrong.

Dan..
