There will be no difference in cold performance between the motul or silkolene as they are both 10w.
The difference will be that the silkolene will provide better protection at higher temps over the motul as the motul is a 40 weight and the silkolene is 50 weight.
I have just opted for the silkolene 10w50 for my 340bhp wrx after speaking to opie oils.
To be honest though, the motul and silkolene are both top quality oils and you wont go wrong using either of them.

Have you thought about a 5W? Do a search for 'motor oil' on www.wikipedia.org then you can make a personal infromed decision....
As long as you don't go too far outside the parameters of the OE oil 'I' don't think you can go far wrong.
