I could explain some of the differences but then I may be attacked again by the rolling road tuners So perhaps one of them could come on and explain your higher knock reading ?

I think by "too hot" he may mean that the charge temp. got high enough to promote a small amount of det?
PSL has a strange fixation with Knocklinks like he has with oils that cost more than 15 quid a gallon! Take the KL for what it is, a device that will indicate if there is a possible problem. You are NOT a "****" if you fit one, just someone who either likes gadgets or genuinely wants to be kept informed of what's going on. I would expect (like me) that such a person would also have oil pressure and maybe temperature and possibly AFR as well?

It's fine on the road; that's what matters!! Yes, your KL activity will be some artifact of the difference between Road conditions and RR conditions.

Even Andy missed the most significant drawback with RR in his very informative posts on a different thread:

As everyone knows ... I only ever post as me!!

Just because plenty of others think I am spot-on right doesn't mean that they are me!

Someone hit the nail on the head in a post above .... it is a gadget and thats all it is .... it serves no useful purpose except add something to your dash to make you feel big and important and ****.

Nowt wrong with that - just PLEASE STOP saying it has magical powers
