is there a retaining spring under the gearstick that keeps it centralised ??

Default is there a retaining spring under the gearstick that keeps it centralised ??

mine is wobbling about a bit but i noticed the bolt was loose under the gearstick boot. is there also a spring to keep it central under the floor ??

there is one on the linkage on the back of the gearbox..

My gearstick wobbled too. The ball joint at the base was worn so fitted a short shifter, got new spring, job done. Is loads better, still not perfect but well on its way.
