Exclamation Engine transplant help please!

Hi, ive had enough of trying to get power out of my 1.6 and have decided to start looking for a 2.0L!! anyway, can any1`give me some advice on where the best place 2 would be to pick 1 up would be, and also, since i have a 1999 1.6 gl 2wd impreza, im guessing i would have to convert it to 4wd? how much am i talking for the complete engine swap, not including fitting it?!!!

lol i have a similar project for the missus just now.

i would buy a 4wd sport if i were you or if money could stretch a turbo

im only 18!! thats the problem! i live in northern ireland and im paying £2000 for insurance now so unless some1 can find me cheaper insurance!!! any ideas of companies which are good for younger drivers? thats why i need to do an engine transplant! its my only chance!

please help!

for the cost of doing the engine transplant and for the additional cost on the insurance it may be cheaper insuring a standard 2.0 sport. As crazy as it seems it is sometimes cheaper insuring a standard higher capacity car than a modified lesser capacity car.

Best bet, just run that car for a few years, build up your no claims, save up the money that you would spend extra on petrol for the 2.0 and put that together for a sport of turbo in a few years time. Probably not the news you wanted to hear, but probably your best option.
