Default Changing a knock sensor??

Hi,

Had the CEL come on a while ago, had it diagnosed as knock sensor. Have now got replacement but cant find it on engine, is it a big job or can it be done easily? i have a classic MY00.

Thanks for the advice in advance

Pretty much under the intercooler on the passenger side. Easy to spot once the cooler's off and simple to change it.

I found my local dealer to be the cheapest place to get the sensor from, £56+Vat, I had been quoted £120 from a specialist.

I found getting the sensor out was easy but putting the new one back in was a complete nightmare, the sensor isn't flat and sits at about 30degree angle, Getting the bolt down through the sensor and into the hole was a nightmere. Used some tape to stick the bolt into an socket on two extention bars.

It didn't help though that I changed mine with a hot engine and on a motorway slip road!!!!!!
