I don't play with the Scooby ecu stuff, not good enough for more than a mild tune but I will be using the ESL package, excellent kit.

We are currently evaluating the ESL Live Mapping option on a number of cars, at present it covers early ECU's upto 96 but expect this to expand as the software and tool suite are under constant development.

Bob, the hardware is exactly the same be it scoobyecu or the ESL board.. the only difference you get is the live mapping facility.

How good you can get the map on a scoobecu, depends on whether you can emulate a 27c1028 and do live mapping

As for the ESL solution, it will be well worth the wait, looked good when I Andy last showed me it.

Are we talking about remapping of ESL/scoobyecu chips that are already out there or will this require a new type of chip?

I heard something from a mate at the weekend that sounded like this. Is it using the Ecutek software to map?

Hi David, interesting comments there, the board I have doesn't seem the same at all.

97-98 cars are not included right now but will be once this version is up an running, I'm keeping a list of interested party's going ready for the first '92-96 production to arrive in a couple of months.

Prototype boards are very limited supply, I was lucky and was allocated one for beta testing, looks good.

cheers

So is this using Ecutek software? And is there any prediction on price?

I heard £600, not sure if that was fitted and mapped or just the hardware.

If it's just the board seems a bit steep to me, could well be wrong as info is limited presently.

No, nothing to do with ECUTEK. Completley different S/W suite, interface and operation.

I would expect price to be in the £500 - £600 bracket fitted and mapped.

The RRP is £295 ex for the board, the mapping cost will depend on the job and the mapper but the established network seem to charge similar rates. It will come with a good usable map out of the box. We are just polishing the software, the tuners that have it in the field are having to put up with a stream of product improvements, but we are just about there.

The hardware has been frozen for a while and has turned a good few thousand miles in the 2 ESL test cars. It is using some pretty novel tech which allows live mapping whilst driving, not trivial when you consider the multiplexed nature of the JECS motherboard expansion port .

The initial production run has just landed, got to get them programmed over the weekend, so must drag self away from interweb..............

Cheers
Andy
