MY94 drivers footwell , metal box needs identifying please??

under there, my car has a silver ish metal box, anyone know what it is, what it does?
Has KM written on it, three black plugs on the rhs, but lower two are unplugged?

and i do know that the ecu is in the passenger footwell, ie the other one in regards to the drivers footwell!

good thinking kips, it did used to be an automatic, could this be what the box was for? and the leads are unplugged as it has a manual box now?

says AT controll unit which would be automatic transmision think it still needs to be their for the starter to engage but not sure

Sorry your gonna need someone a bit more techy than me jolly green monster is helpfull knows his stuff your probably get an answer later on in the evening wouldnt bother when top gears on though
some one will be along with the answer maybe put what model you got helps people work it out with a bit more info
