Default Louder burble from MY05 WRX

the usual question, purchased said car last august, am happy with the note that comes from the standard exhaust, in that way that when the wife pulls into the drive i know she's home from hearing her before seeing her ( the exhaust noise i mean) however, as of late have heard a much more baritone noise from a few of the other scoobies i've seen around
The exhaust is standard as from factory and ends with the twin round 3" pipes.
Exhausts in this country can set you back plenty and i don't really want the small cannon style, so what is the easiest and cheapest way to get some more placido burble from the car.
Had a friend with a Type R civic, he took the bafflers / mufflers out of his exhaust, but you could hear him coming from the next county.

Cheers in advance

Afterburner Vortex system will be what your after, get a unresonated centre section too and you'll be heard a good mile away

For better burble but non heavy artillery, try Hayward & Scott, Milltek, Ninja.

Some people have reported a more defined burble with changing their airbox filter.

Other than that buy an STi

Buy a prodrive back box either off here or from ebay. Plenty good ones around and should only set you back between £150 - £200. Good quality stainless part and give a decent burble which is neither too loud or too quiet.

Or if you wish to keep it stock looking change the resonated pipe for a straight though pipe.
