Is there such a thing as heated wing mirrors for the version 2 Impreza?
Hello there, I have a version 2 pre-facelift 96 Impreza wrx.
I started the old girl up the other morning, and noted that my wing mirrors were all frosted up, and then later on in the day they were covered in water. On both occassions I couldn't see in them.
It made me wonder, is there a model within the classic Impreza range that had heated wing mirrors, so I could source them and fit them to my car? Yes I am lazy, I could have just wiped them, but thats no fun.
Anyone got any ideas?
I asked at my local Subaru dealer and the 18yr old chav school drop out said, and I quote " I dunno, they might do, but they might not of done, you know what I mean?! I'll give it a fink, you buzz me back yeah"
Yeah, erm... thanks for that.
Thats when I thought I'd turn to the real pro's on Scoobynet.

What can I say, I like toys.
Particularly because my old Escort RS Trubo had all these toys, and I was always lead to beleive that Scooby's were better in ever department.
Have I made the right choice? erm.... Yes by miles . Scoobies rule.
Just wish they had a few more toys.

Well my old Clio 16v had oil level, oil temp and oil pressure gauges as standard, as well as heated mirrors. But then my Scoob's got aircon and folding mirrors. Electric folding mirrors are cooler than heated.
But IIRC whenever anyone's mirror heating element went, you just got a replacement off a Transit or Sprinter or something. It was just a sticky pad with two wires on it.

I was thinking of modding some wing mirrors with elements from other cars if if there wasn't a model with them as standard, as I'm sure that would be cheaper anyway.
As for pictures of the old girl, I was gonna wait till I've got the facelift bonnet and fitted all the goodies I've got sat in my garage FMIC, stainless headers, de-cat downpipe, light weight pulleys, Uprated fuel pump etc...
I need to lay my hands of an Apexi Power FC & commander, a fuel pressure regulator and a set of injectors first. Its all coming though, slowly but surely.
