Panel filter or induction kit?!!
#3
I'd tend to stay with a panel filter TBH, I know it's a different car but when I had my Skyline with an APEXI induction kit in the winter the frost on the bonnet always melted first above the intake point, so I'd say it was sucking air from the warmest point in the engine bay. Try a hi-flow filter in the std airbox, cooler air has got to be better IMHO unless you're running big power and need more than a panel can flow.

Pannel filter would be a better set up because it retains the original box which has a cold air feed from the front bumper. As above when fitting a aftermarket induction kit this tends not to filter the air as good “Depending on type used” it will also raise charge temps from drawing warmer air from the bay area.
