Default Persistant coolant leeks

Since i had my engine rebuilt (sti2 with new sti 8 short block), ive had non stop coolant issues. First it was a small leek traced to a pipe near the turbo. The next leek was traced to my header tank and the next to the pipe that comes out of the top left of the radiator. All the pipes, header tank and radiator have since been replaced.

It now appears to be dribbling out of the botton left of the crank casing. I know the only thing in there is the water pump and thats on the other side.

Does this sound like the pump needs replaced?

Although the replaced hoses had holes in them, im beginning to think the coolant system is being pressurised somewere, possibly from the head gasket? I cant see how this is possible though, as the cars just been rebuilt using new gaskets!

Any ideas?

Have you tried a compression or hydrocarbon test to rule out a head gasket failure?

hydrocarbon test is the first check if you suspect over pressurised coolant system. cheap half hour job for a garage with the kit.

Could just be that these components were weak before the rebuild and were about to fail anyway just with general wear and tear. Do coolant contamination check tho, as pressure in there can lead to the heater matrix failing - which is a long pain in the **** of a job !
