96 STI first mods
Hi, looking to buy a 96 STI and just wondered what are the first mods to carry out to get a few more BHP. And what would it take to get it over the 300 BHP mark.

Thanks for the info.
Is that a panel or induction filter? Is it worth removing the resonator box?
What about those nice shiny headers i have seen on ebay, any good?
What will be the next mods after that?
Sorry for all the questions.
Thanks in advance.

Don't bother with tube headers, and not the ebay one!
Get a set of ported cast headers from Welcome to the API website or Harvey.
Much better at your level of tune.
After the above you might want to invest £800 in a well mapped Apexi FC ecu which will squeeze a bit more from the mods but safely.
From personal experience email Andy on www.andyforrestperformance.com There is a good reason people use him! (bloody good at it).
Further, you can get the ecu done at API along with the headers!
After that lot you will need about another £1500 to step up to 350 bhp, and a further 1000 to set up to 380 ish.
