Resetting Te ECU/Remap
I have noticed that several people reccommend resetting the ECU brings everything back to factory settings.
If you have had a remap & you do this, does it cancel out all the work & settings the mapper has done??
( asked this question 2 weeks ago, lost my Laptop for a couple of days, if I got a reply I missed it)
Thanks.

No reseting does not remove any of the mappers work, It just resets to the new variables. And removes any learning the ecu may have done whether it be positive or negative

Nice one.
I
t hesitates when I accelerate sometimes, the mapper said it was the ECU doing this (no danger).
Do you think this would disappear if I reset the ECU?
Thanks
Kind regards

Alan - if the ECU has two maps in it (AndyF mapped my newage with ECUTEK in November and setup a high and low boost map), then it may well reset to the low-boost map. From Andy's advice, in my case, I'd drive for a few miles (2-5) on the low-boost map, to get the ECU to get the 'variable' parameters back to suit the car, then switch back to the high map.
I've needed to reset mine a couple of times, due to a persistant CEL, and this has been OK.
Hope this helps,
Mark
