Is this just a straight swap then or is there anythimg else involved?

Also does this mean a 2001,2002,2003,2004 will fit also?

when I was on holiday in hawaii, met up with a guy who put a 2003 STI engine in a 1999 classic, if this helps, also did gearbox and full brembo conversion at the same time. It was fabulous!!

Sti 8 cylinder heads use AVCS active valve control system. Of which is controlled by the ECU, so without the wiring loom and ecu the answer is no. The STi 8 block with your cylinder heads would work though.
