Default No power to fuel pump

Howdy

I broke down today and the AA man found i wasnt getting any electrical power to the fuel pump, he has linked me up to the rear window heaters power supply for now but wondered if anybody else has had this problem and what was wrong?

Was flying along fine and then it all cut out on me. any ideas?

thanks

i wouldnt have a clue im afraid. I just know he said he tested the power to the fuel pump adaptor thing and it wasnt getting any power when it was plugged it but it was when it was or summat

He has given power to the fuel pump by linking it to the rear window heaters and its running fine aslong as i keep my rear window heater on!!

Happened to mine but we have a Brant setup which caused the issue. Can you hear the relay under the dash ?

If you can hear the relay click - checked the fuse ? The circuit goes from battery through the relay, through to the fuel regulator then to the pump. Pump is obviously okay but probably running at full bore right now continuosly.

Watch out, the window heater will turn itself off after a while!

Default same happened to me

When it happened to me....took it to a mates garage and I checked the wiring from the pump and it went to the imobilizer.
Ended up just putting an 12V supply, after the ignition, on to the pump (splicing into the feed to the pump from the imobilizer).Seemed to do the trick.

is it a UK car with an OE sigma? they have been known to fail in the immob circuit. take it to a good alarm specialist to have it bypassed. dont just put a feed to it as a permanant fix, as they have relays and safety circuits for a reason

"If you can hear the relay click - checked the fuse ?"

I think this is what the AA man was thinking it was, but the relay was too far up inside the dashboard for him to reach it.

Hopefully it will be just a fuse, i did seem to just suddenly go as if it was a fuse going, havent had anything like that happen before, it was running brilliantly.
