Default Remap For UK Fuel?

I have read on SN that its a good idea to have a standard P1 remapped for UK fuel (V Power) as Ecutek was not available when they were new and Subaru put something in the tank to compensate which wasn't really up to the job. True or False?

If I was to remap an otherwise standard P1, would an uprated fuel pump be a good idea and what sort of power increase would I get?

Cheers

I'm not 100 percent on this, but a P1 is a UK car, so should be oK on V-power (my g/f's is..) get it checked on a rolling road just incase a sesor is failing (known probs with o2 sensor and MAF's failing leading a lean mixture)

P1's have an uprated fuel pump as standard.

There has been quite a lot said about this mate.

In a nutshell: The P1 basically runs a StiV map (originally designed for 100ron fuel), with a few minor tweaks that should make it ok for UK SUL. Mappers, claimed, cynics would say not surprisingly, that the car was borderline ok on SUL (at the time, 97RON was the most common SUL). However, now with the likes of Vpower and Tesco 99, it is less of an issue if the car is std.

However, I personally wouldn't have a P1 that wasn't specifically mapped for UK SUL TBH, I certainly wouldn't have one with mods that wasn't mapped for UK fuel.

Cheers Ns04. I've seen a nice unmodded P1 which I'm tempted to buy. I think a remap for V Power would be in order if I went for it.

I think that'd be very wise; you'd also end up with a faster car. Remapped P1s seem to produce over 320bhp regularly.
