a mate has a p reg catalunya which has leaking rocker gaskets.they have been done once by a local garage but they are still leaking so he wants me to sort it. is there any knack to them? best to use genuine gaskets?

the other thing is the n/s driveshaft oil seal is leaking,now it looks simple enough,pop bottom ball joint off and pop inner cv joint out.it looked like the inner cv joint is held in by a roll pin going right through,is this correct?
while i was under there i noticed there was a lot of play in both inner cv joints,if it was a normal front driver i would of said the diff bearings were shot,but it looked like just the joints moving on the shafts,is this normal?
