Default Missfire problems, help please

Arite guys, After almost a year of trouble free motoring my '95 wrx has developed a problem. The car seems to hesitate and then pull through whilst in high revs/boost kind of like a miss-fire. It first happens at about 4-5000 revs then again at 51/2 thou and 6 thou - so it happens three times through the rev range. The boost seems to be fine - it is mapped to run peak at 14psi and shows correctly on the boost gauge. I had a baileys dump valve on it and heard that they sometimes cause problems so replaced it with standard re-circ valve - no different. Any ideas? I suppose that it could be the coilpacks breaking down under high load - also haven't changed the plugs as yet so don't know how long they have been in there. I suppose this problem could have been there for a while as I only use the car at weekends and this is the first time I have given it any stick in a good while. Also one other thing - The rocker gaskets had gone and I had no time to do them myself so they went to a local scoob specialist who did them for me - could be coincedence I suppose but he's the only other person to have his hands in my engine bay since I have owned it. Any feedback, Ideas, Other similar experiences would be gratefully recieved and apologies for the long post. :-D
